Forensic Document Examiners: Search Engine Optimisation

Forensic Document Examiners approached Websmiths with a need to increase their web traffic from search engines. Their site had been designed by a friend, but no SEO work had been done. There was no meta information, the content was all formatted at paragraph level, the site was a maze of nested tables and the navigation employed excessive use of javascript code and was not accessible to search robots.

Given that the client was happy with the visual design of the site, Websmiths set about recreating the site with clean, accessible code (no tables or pointless javascript), has properly structured content and has a focus on connecting keywords with the specific content within the site. Added benefits are much less code and faster downloads.

Keywords including questioned signatures, handwriting examination, forensic document examination, forgery and forensic evidence are targetted.

We also created a google sitemap and incorporated google analytics to allow the client to monitor the progress of the site in the future.
